• The challenges are lack of records and studies from home owners or public agencies
• Identified areas and sources of flooding
• Recommended mitigation measures for RLP and public jurisdictions
• Measures included floodplain management with habitat preservation and elevating low-lying and flood-prone structures
• Performed economic analysis to verify improvement feasibility
• Site condition analysis, feasible mitigation measures, and public input were the key for successful development of FMPs.
• Final plans successfully adopted by the City Council and County Board of Supervisors
• Project involved Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for Malibu Lake
• Project involved significant coordination with FEMA, Office of Emergency Services, City, County, and homeowners
